I've conquered for Cancer Council

Doin' it for Doug

Hi
Yes, this is our second year doing the walk. I wanted to do something to support the Cancer Council.
In 2001, I lost my father to cancer and, as a Daddy's girl, I was devastated.   Then in 2009, we lost my sister in law, whom I had known since very early childhood. I struggled to find a way to honour their memory. Fast forward to 2023  I stumbled on this fantastic event. I had found my goal. So, with the support of my fantastic husband, we embarked on training and completed the walk in just over 6 hours.  This year we have had more friends join Team 'Doin' it for Doug' and have lost more friends and family along the way.
We are hoping our contribution helps find a cure for this insideous disease.
The feeling of completing this walk is just a bonus.
This year we have multiple family and friends fight the good fight. Some on their second time around. Let's kick cancer's arse for good.

I’m walking for a cancer free future

I’m taking on 7 Bridges Walk on Sunday 20 October 2024 and will be uniting with the community to walk 28km around Sydney Harbour.

Every year in NSW alone, more than 53,000 new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed and the impact on families, carers and communities is significant.

Please sponsor me and help those affected by cancer. Every step counts because all funds raised will help Cancer Council NSW work towards the vision of a cancer free future. Thank you for your support!

So far this year I’ve helped provide:

13 kids with a SunSmart education

or

9 calls to trained cancer professionals on 13 11 20

or

2 days of a PHD student’s world-class research

Thank you to my Sponsors
