Family and friends

Our family has been impacted by cancer numerous times, whilst most have survived and gone on to live well, some have not. This year my sister in law got a diagnosis of bowel cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. Many friends have also been impacted by this devastating disease including 2 requiring radical surgical intervention in the last couple of months.

I am also a nurse and have seen first-hand the brutalness of a cancer diagnosis.  It is a shocking rollercoaster ride full of fear, uncertainty and a reality you would rather run from, but there is nowhere to run.

Cancer has the power to steal a happy and seemingly healthy life and turn it upside down.  

I am doing the 7 bridges walk to honour my family and friends who have been affected by cancer. Equally importantly, I am raising money to help towards a cancer free future.

I am looking forward to meeting up with the 7 bridges community on 20^th October.

I’m walking for a cancer free future

I’m taking on 7 Bridges Walk on Sunday 20 October 2024 and will be uniting with the community to walk 28km around Sydney Harbour. 

Every year in NSW alone, more than 53,000 new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed and the impact on families, carers and communities is significant.
